Epiphany

Yesterday I went to have lunch with a friend which was very pleasant & made a relaxing day.

Today has been a Bank Holiday for Epiphany & firstly I went into Piazza San Marco to see the Angel & Three Kings go round on the hour as they did origionally. Now due to polution as they are wood they are only seen twice a year - today & Ascension day. As I missed them last year I was determined to see them today. I went at noon & one o'clock - photos at the first & a video at the second. Only trouble is I can't seem to find playback on the camera.....

Then the sun came out & it has been a beautiful afternoon for a long stroll, a spritz sat outside & then a concert for Epiphany at The Frari Church. There was a choral piece by Saint Sains followed by three chorus from Part 1 of the Messsiah.

Leaving the church even though I was absolutely frozen I decided to continue on the vaporetto to Arsenale to photograph the few Christmas decorations & reflections. At Arsenale there was a small fair - it was there last year but I didn't visit so this time i walked through, not very much but as I was cold & hungry I bought a portion of frites. They were not hot but the carbs helped!
