My appartment - Casa Giovanna

I thought you moght like to see the inside of my apartment. Here are two photos of the lounge & kitchen. There is a sofa and three chairs with tables, ornaments and books. The owner of the appartment is a translator and there is much evidence of what she does.

I am well provided for with gadgets. This time I have an electric kettle (very unusual for Italy) rather than a pan with a wonky handle! Remember no health & safety issues here! There is also a toaster, food processor, hand mixer etc, etc, etc. Although what I am supposed to use them all for is quite a mystery as the oven is a combi microwave/electric. I thought I would try it out by cooking some frozen chips to go with my fillet steak. Once the oven got to 200c & after 45mins they were still soft & white I transfered them to my steak pan. I don't see me roasting a chichen or cooking a casserole. I think food will have to cooked on the hob. In preparation for a busy week of pantomime rehearsals & performances I have made a few things for the freezer. I must have been to the supermarket at least once if not sometimes twice every day. Everything has to be carried back & then up 37 steps. I must say I can already climb then easier than this time last week!

The next photo is of the dining area of the room. A large table with a bowl of wonderful seasonings, oils & vinegars. The agency had put on there a large panatone, a bottle of prosecco, fruit and some small tramezzini sandwiches in case I hadn't eaten, I hadn't & I was starving. They were wonderfuul.
Here I have two bedrooms & two bathrooms. The second bedroom has the internet access & telephone so I can keep my laptop in a separate room. For 5 euros per week I have unlimited internet access & telephone use. Wow.
There is also a washing machine in a cupboard & I can hang the washing to dry in the spare room. Outside I have one of those pulley washing lines, but as I am on the second floor & no access to the garden below I dare not hang anything out in case I drop it.
I am very warm & comfortable here, it is a joy to spend time in the apartment.
